Overview

Spayne Lindsay & Co. is delighted to announce they have advised Groupe La Mère Poulard on the sale of Biscuiterie La Mère Poulard, a producer of traditional butter-biscuits, to Aux Trois Cigognes, a French family holding owned by Luc-Pierre Verquin.

Founded in 1998 and based in Maen Roch (30 km away from Mont-Saint-Michel), Biscuiterie La Mère Poulard (“BLMP”) is a producer of branded traditional biscuits from Brittany and Normandy. Today, BLMP generates €30m in sales, with products sold in France and in over 60 countries, and has 95 employees. With this latest acquisition, Aux Trois Cigognes now brings together three complementary companies in the biscuit space.

Léo Vannier, Vice-President of the La Mère Poulard Group, said: "This sale represents a clear strategic choice for our Group. We are proud of the heritage of our biscuit factory, which has perpetuated the culinary tradition and high quality standards of La Mère Poulard's recipes. We can now devote ourselves fully to our primary mission: offering unforgettable tourist experiences at Mont Saint-Michel. We are delighted to have reached an agreement with a French buyer and wish the Aux Trois Cigognes group every success in continuing to develop these exceptional products."

Luc-Pierre Verquin, President of Aux Trois Cigognes, states: "Integrating Biscuiterie La Mère Poulard is a great opportunity for external growth, in line with my passion for quality food products, strong brands and teams committed to customer satisfaction. With my experience at Verquin Confiseur and recent acquisitions in the Hauts-de-France region, we will consolidate complementary expertise while preserving the teams and spirit of each company in their respective territories."
